Welcome to PaddockPal! This guide will help you get started as a host on our platform. Follow these steps to create and manage your listings effectively.
1 - Creating Your Account
- Visit PaddockPal's website.
- Click on "Sign Up" or "Create Account".
- Provide your personal information, including your full name, email address, and phone number.
- Verify your age by providing your date of birth. You must be at least 18 years old to use PaddockPal.
- Create a strong password for your account.
- Read and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Complete any additional verification steps if required.
2 - Creating a Listing
Once your account is set up, you can create your first listing:
- Log in to your PaddockPal account.
- Click on "Post a new listing" or a similar option.
- Choose between daily or hourly rental.
- Select the appropriate category for your listing.
- If applicable, choose a subcategory and sub-subcategory.
- Fill in the listing details:
- Listing title
- Description
- Category-specific fields (These will vary based on your chosen category)
- Provide the location of your facility or service.
- Set your pricing information.
- Set up your availability:
- First, set a default weekly schedule.
- Then, adjust for specific dates as needed.
- Upload high-quality photos of your facility or service.
- Review your listing for accuracy and completeness.
- Submit your listing for review.
4 - Managing Bookings and Communication
Once your listing is live, you'll start receiving booking requests. Here's how to manage them:
- You'll receive notifications via email and on the PaddockPal platform when you get a booking request.
- Review the booking details carefully.
- Accept or decline the booking through the platform.
- Use the PaddockPal messaging system to communicate with guests. Keep all communication on the platform for your protection.
- Respond to messages promptly and professionally.
4 - Processing Purchases
When a guest makes a purchase:
- You'll receive a notification via email and on the PaddockPal platform.
- Review the purchase details in your provider Inbox.
- Prepare the service or facility for the guest's arrival.
- If necessary, use the messaging feature to arrange delivery or provide additional information.
- After the service is provided, mark it as delivered on the platform.
- The guest will then have the opportunity to mark the service as received and leave a review.
5 - Managing Your Calendar
Keep your availability calendar up to date to avoid double bookings:
- Regularly check and update your calendar.
- Block out any dates when your facility or service is unavailable.
- If you need to cancel a booking, do so as early as possible and communicate clearly with the guest.
6 - Pricing and Fees
Set competitive prices for your listings:
- Research similar listings in your area to gauge appropriate pricing.
- Consider seasonal variations and adjust prices accordingly.
- Be aware of PaddockPal's service fees, which will be deducted from your earnings.
7 - Legal and Safety Considerations
As a host, you have certain legal and safety responsibilities:
- Ensure you have appropriate insurance coverage for your activities.
- Comply with all relevant animal welfare laws and regulations.
- Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications for your services.
- Provide accurate information about your qualifications and experience.
- Prioritize the safety of guests and animals at all times.
- Ensure you are cognisant of tax implications of and revenue you recieve from your listing (s), including whether your facility is subject to business rates.
- When renting land for grazing or other non-agricultural uses, take steps to avoid creating tenancy rights for your licensee by clearly defining usage as a temporary, non-exclusive license rather than a lease. Consider limiting access to less than full-year use or setting periodic breaks to avoid implying exclusive, continuous possession.
